Founded in 2013 on the territory of a former ribbon weaving factory as a cultural organization and a venue. It organizes contemporary music and art events, fuels intersectional cooperation, and influences the sustainable development of audio-visual culture in Ukraine. Since its beginning, the art center has implemented more than 50 exhibition projects, 12 series of lectures on the history of music, art, cinema, and theater, has weekly concerts and night parties, and runs annual international music festivals such as Strichka, Brave! Factory, Black! Factory, and Am I Jazz?. Closer has become the face of progressive culture in Ukraine and was a subject of articles at Guardian, Spike, The Independent, and others.
